The Wake Forest University Department of Psychology welcomes applications for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor, with a specialization in prejudice, bias, discrimination, or stereotyping. The position begins July 1, 2026. Skillful teaching is a key responsibility, with a course load of four (4) courses per academic year that includes courses at introductory and advanced undergraduate levels and may include graduate level courses. Additionally, the successful candidate will maintain a robust program of scholarship, in keeping with standards of the discipline, and support the Wake Forest University mission through service to the department, the College of Liberal Arts, and the university.

We seek applicants, from any area of psychology, whose research on prejudice, bias, discrimination, or stereotyping would meaningfully contribute to one of our departmental themes: well-being, analysis and measurement, or self-regulation. The strongest candidates will be very strong in one theme rather than less strong in multiple themes.

Position Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field is required for the position; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Qualified applicants will demonstrate their ability to teach courses in their area(s) of expertise as well as more general courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; initiate and sustain original research and scholarship in their area(s) of expertise; supervise student research; and contribute to an academic environment that fosters learning and growth for all its members.
