Assistant Professor of Public Administration
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Public Administration in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Public Administration
- Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes
- Service to department, college, University, and profession
- Scholarship/Research expectations: Maintaining a steady research and publication agenda on one or more subfields of Public Administration (e.g. budgeting, local government administration, policy studies)
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent in Public Administration or a related discipline, is required at the time of hire.
- Experience teaching in-person, on-line or hybrid courses.
- Evidence of scholarship or potential of scholarly activities pertaining to one or more subfields of Public Administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Record of past teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Likelihood of obtaining extramural funding
- Ability to teach one or more of the following areas: budgeting, research methods, governmental relations, Capstone, nonprofit administration, or state and local governance and administration.
