The Office of Annual Giving at Oberlin College and Conservatory seeks applications for the position of Associate Director of Annual Giving. This is a full-time 12-month, Administrative and Professional Staff position in the Office of Advancement, reporting to the Director of Annual Giving.
Responsibilities:
The Associate Director of Annual Giving will be primarily responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive direct mail and email program. This position will also act as project manager for Oberlin’s annual day of giving, All In For Oberlin.
Essential Job Functions:
- In conjunction with the Director of Annual Giving and annual giving team members, construct and execute a College-wide annual plan for direct mail, email, telephone, text, and crowdfunding solicitation programs within the context of the overall annual giving goal.
- Plan and execute Oberlin’s annual day of giving, All In For Oberlin.
- Write solicitation copy and work closely with the Office of Communications to determine design needs and manage timelines.
- Partner with the Parent & Family Giving team to plan and execute annual giving solicitations for parents.
- Assess appeal performance and recommend actions to be taken as a result of that information.
- Participate in departmental meetings and assist with campus events, including class reunions, homecoming/commencement, and others as needed.
- Undertake additional projects and duties as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and three or more years of professional experience in fundraising.
- Proven ability to develop and execute fundraising campaigns with measurable success.
- The ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and with others within the Advancement division and across campus.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write and edit solicitation and cultivation materials, correspondence, and reports.
- Ability to analyze and summarize data, recognize patterns and significant data points, and make recommendations based on the information.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft suite of applications; willingness to learn new programs and applications.
