Associate Vice Provost - School of ETMS
Position Summary
The Associate Vice Provost (AVP) will report directly to the Vice Provost of the School of Engineering, Technology, Mathematics, and Sciences. This leadership role will oversee and support academic areas including Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Gaming, and the newly launched 4-year Bachelor of Applied Technology program in Software Development. The AVP will play a key role in advancing strategic initiatives, fostering academic excellence, and supporting program growth across these disciplines. The position is expected to begin in January 2026, with applications due by October 5th at midnight.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Vice Provost in working with faculty leaders, senior officers of the college and academic deans to advance initiatives within the school.
- Provide strategic leadership and direct supervision to department chairs and staff within the School of, ensuring alignment with institutional goals, academic excellence, and a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Facilitate discussions across schools, other groups across camps, community partners, corporate partners, and government agencies with respect to new relationships and any changed in relationships.
- Coordinate and engage with relevant internal stakeholders on these relationships (e.g., legal, HR, business services, student success, workforce and advancement, academic services, eLearning, special academic programs, multicultural affairs office, etc.).
- Assist and maintain documentation on these relationships.
- Deliver presentations as appropriate.
- Research best practices in developing and implementing academic programs relevant to the school.
- Oversee day-to-day operations as well as strategy-setting.
- Create an appropriate website including responsibility for content maintenance and development of new strategies for web presence.
- Help to develop and executive communication strategies for disseminating information.
- Provide written documentation (e.g., websites, memorandums, news briefings, regional fact sheets and stories) as required.
- Represent the College to students, parents, alumni, other institutions and partners of Dallas College as appropriate in both informal and formal settings.
- Serve as a focal point for organizing and scheduling visit to the college for delegations from community partners.
- Oversee budgetary requests, prepare budget memos, and work with the Vice Provost to plan a budget.
- Completes required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred. Official transcripts required.
- Current and valid Texas driver’s license required.
- Seven (7) years of explicit administrative experience required.
- Experience directly managing one or more community college programs in an academic setting required.
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred.
