Business Services Assistant
Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Business Services, the Business Services Assistant is responsible for providing administrative, computer, and customer service skills in the performance of a variety of duties to maintain accounting records and reports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with all HigherOne customer service related issues, such as assisting students, faculty and staff in person, by telephone, or by email
- Processes payments, petty cash, and miscellaneous deposits; balances cash drawers
- Corresponds with payment plan company and collection agencies in order to maintain current and past tuition and miscellaneous accounts
- Computes and records charges and refunds; may assist with refunds, collections, student allocation of military benefits, and 1098T inquiries
- Distributes employee timecards and paychecks
- Distributes and receives keys from faculty, staff, and administrators; receives lost and found items and distributes claimed items
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
- Works under the general supervision of the Manager of Business Services

Required Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Two (2) years of customer service and cash handling experience
- At least one (1) year's working experience in a team-centered environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
- Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
- Skilled in using a calculator, keyboarding, and ten-key by touch
- Ability to work at least two (2) 7:00pm closing shifts
