Financial Specialist Senior / Intermediate
The University of Michigan's Center for Global Health Equity brings together faculty and students to address global health challenges. The Financial Specialist reports to the Managing Director, providing financial support and advising on resource alignment for core services, funding programs, and educational opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating budget development, financial forecasting, and annual budget materials.
- Analyzing financial processes, monitoring commitments, reconciling accounts, and processing journal entries.
- Reviewing internal controls and certifying financial results.
- Tracking faculty and staff effort, assisting with personnel actions, and supporting sponsored projects.
- Interpreting policies, communicating financial information, and serving as a liaison with U-M units and international partners.
Additional responsibilities include flexible scheduling and other tasks as assigned.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; proficiency in procurement; experience in financial concepts; initiative for uncommon tasks; attention to detail; effective communication; and ability to work independently.
Senior level requires 3-5 years of experience; intermediate level requires at least 2 years.
