Towson University:

Position:

The College of Health Professions invites applications for a Spring 2026 non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor position to support the Department of Health Sciences; undergraduate majors include Health Care Management, Public Health, and Allied Health. Full-time appointment will begin in January 2026. Successful applicants will be able to teach across these majors. Faculty may teach at the undergraduate or graduate level based on expertise and the needs of the department.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in health care management, health services administration, business administration, health economics, health sciences, public health, or related discipline. Education and expertise to teach health care management, public health, and/or allied health courses, including introduction to health care delivery, introduction to public health, and management and leadership in healthcare.

Responsibilities:

Faculty are assigned an instructional workload of four (4) course units (three credit hours each) per semester. Primary responsibilities include providing high quality instruction across a variety of health care management, public health, and/or allied health courses; effective student mentoring and advising; maintaining current industry knowledge; and active participation in service to the assigned programs, department, college, and University.

The Department:

There are seven degree/certificate programs in the interprofessional, team-oriented Department of Health Sciences. These include a Health Care Management program with over 180 undergraduate majors and a Public Health program with over 350 undergraduate majors. Other majors include Allied Health and Gerontology, with graduate certificates in Autism Studies and Health Leadership and an MS in Health Science with concentrations in Administration or Community Health.

Salary and Benefits:

Targeted salary range: We expect to hire for the Spring 2026 term at 50% of the defined annual salary of $60,500.
