Circulation Supervisor - Library
The Circulation Supervisor is responsible for supervising all Circulation Desk operations during assigned hours. This incumbent performs a variety of duties including: opening/closing the library and readying the building for use; assisting library users (students, faculty, staff, guests) with a variety of Circulation Desk needs; supervising Circulation Desk student workers; monitoring building conditions and security; maintaining adherence to Circulation policies; working on special projects as assigned; and completing daily shift reports.
Additional hours may be possible throughout the year. This is a part-time twelve (12) month position requiring a flexible schedule of sixteen (16) hours per week including availability for evening and weekend hours.

- Ability to address patron concerns and difficulties with tact, courtesy, and sound.
- Ability to communicate effectively with college students and to supervise student.
- Ability to work autonomously and successfully with limited direct daily supervision.
- Strong office and computer skills and the ability to learn new procedures.
- Reliability in performing daily tasks/duties as assigned.
- Ability to consider occasional assistance with coverage of other shifts (optional).
- Ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Exceptional level of attendance and dependability, including during inclement.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree or two years of college plus one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and maturity.
- One (1) year experience in a public services or customer service environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Supervisory experience, preferably in a public services or customer service environment.
- Library Circulation Desk experience.
- Experience working with automated library computer systems and/or contemporary Interfaces.
Additional Information:
Hours: Monday through Thursday, 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, with possible weekend and evening coverage - September through May. Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm - June through August.
