The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a faculty position in the Exercise Science concentration in the Department of Health Science. This is a non-tenure track, full-time, 12-month position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The incumbent will be located at Stony Brook University's Health Sciences Center.

The candidate hired for this position will be joining a collaborative and student-centered department with responsibilities in teaching in areas of expertise within Exercise Science, engaging in collaborative interdisciplinary scholarship, and participating in service activities. All courses the candidate will be teaching are offered in an in-person format only. In the fall semester, the candidate will teach HAN 311 and HAN 300 or HAN 335 (https://healthprofessions.stonybrookmedicine.edu/programs/hs/curriculum/fall) and in the spring semester will teach several courses in the Exercise Science concentration of study (https://healthprofessions.stonybrookmedicine.edu/programs/hs/curriculum/nonclinical/exercisescience). In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to revisions of program courses to strengthen the program's curriculum and offerings.

The School of Health Professions' Department of Health Science offers a BS degree in Health Science including several clinical and non-clinical concentrations of study. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited institution. Minimum two (2) years of full-time or full-time equivalent industry or academic experience in a field related to Exercise Science, for example, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Kinesiology, etc. Experience teaching at the college level, conducting in-service trainings, or serving as a clinical preceptor.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in a field related to Exercise Science; ABD or currently enrolled in an academic doctoral program is acceptable. Experience teaching as a primary instructor at the undergraduate or graduate level. Curriculum development experience.
