Job Summary
The Art & Design Department at Arapahoe Community College is accepting applications for part-time Instructors to teach in the Construction Management Program during the upcoming Fall 2025 semester.
Candidates must be able to teach at both the Littleton Campus and the Sturm Collaboration Campus at Castle Rock. Finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online courses.
This posting will be used to fill multiple part-time Instructor vacancies. The application period is expected to close August 31, 2025. Finalist must be willing to make Colorado their primary workplace, including for online courses.
Currently, available courses for the Fall 2025 semester include:
AEC 2610 - Estimating I
Face-to-face instruction delivery - Littleton Campus
This course will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 05:30 pm-06:45 pm
15-week Fall semester courses run between August 18, 2025 - December 9, 2025
This course covers basic construction estimating. Students will develop skills in estimating the amount and cost of various constructions. They will demonstrate these skills by making estimates of material and labor quantities and cost for representative types of construction.
Part-time Instructors provide instructional duties for the College in their respective areas of expertise. They report to the department chair within the discipline and do not have any supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include instruction, student assessment, and other related instructional duties. Instructional delivery may include face-to-face, hybrid, and online. Classes may be held days, evenings, and weekends.
The instructor must be patient, and respectful, while also providing their expectations for what is considered acceptable work. The instructor must display dedication to the class as well as the goals of the program.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in Construction Management or a related subfield; OR
- Current professional license in Construction
- Have, or qualify, for a postsecondary CTE credential including 4,000 non-teaching occupational hours within the last 7 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five or more years of professional experience in construction estimating, cost control, or project management, including residential and commercial projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in current industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, RSMeans, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with the CSI MasterFormat Divisions and construction documentation.
- Strong understanding of building codes, permitting processes, and bond requirements as they relate to cost estimation.
- Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and recap sheets for both residential and commercial projects.
- Experience teaching or training in construction management or estimating, particularly at the community college or technical education level.

Additional Information
Courses are paid per credit hour according to the type of course. This is a LEC course. The LEC session per credit pay rate is $1,149 for Level 1, $1,207 for Level 2, and $1,263 for Level 3.
