Coordinator of Campus Support Services
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Campus Support Services, the Coordinator of Campus Support Services is responsible for coordinating, organizing, and supervising the Campus Support Services team at their designated campus as well as troubleshooting issues with audiovisual (AV) equipment, computer hardware, software, and network issues directly.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Essential Performance Requirements: Leads a team to coordinate, troubleshoot, install, and provide support in the operation of computer equipment and systems. Assists in the preparation of annual equipment budget and prepares necessary work-related reports. Monitors and provides Tier 2 support for helpdesk tickets. Resolves issues that arise between users of the equipment and campus support personnel. Interprets instructions, technical data, and blueprints and interfaces with media consultants and Vendors on District renovations. Meets with conference center and campus administration for consultation on media needs. Identifies areas of aging or inoperative equipment and makes recommendations for repair, upgrade, or replacement. Coordinates lab configurations and software deployment with campus users to meet specific department needs on a semester basis. Analyzes technology needs of campus users and recommends and implements solutions to meet those needs including deployment of replacement computers, backing-up user data, migration, and software installation.
- General Supervision and Management: Develops and evaluates institutional and professional effectiveness plans and goals for Campus Support personnel. Supervises the Campus Support Services team.
- Service Excellence: Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as needed to directly support essential performance requirements achievement. Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite. Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute. Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College.
- Supervision: Works under the general supervision of the Director of Campus Support Services.
- Performs Other Related Tasks as Required.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in the operation of AV equipment and systems or in the support and operations of computer equipment and systems; or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Extron or Crestron Certification. Current IT Project Management Certification or equivalent IT certification. Current MS System Center Configuration Manager Certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of computer networking and technology. Skilled in multitasking. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume. Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations. Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables. Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
