Student Assistant
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the Cancer Center Department within New Jersey Medical School. The primary role of the Student Assistant is to conduct laboratory research under the supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Pingping Hou. The current focus of Dr. Pingping Hou's lab is to understand the anti-KRAS therapy resistance mechanisms in pancreatic cancer and engineer tumor-associated cells to improve disease control. The Student Assistant appointee will assist other senior members in the lab to perform molecular and mouse experiments and analyze data.
- Perform PCR and other molecular assays as directed by the PI.
- Perform mouse experiments.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive laboratory records.
- Perform statistical analyses of research data.
- Performs other related duties of the research.
- Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Minimum Education and Experience: Currently enrolled in undergraduate studies at Rutgers University, with experience in the life science field.
Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements.
Work Environment: Lab environment with moderate noise. Hazardous chemicals are used in the lab.
Salary: A minimum of $16.00 per hour.
