Campus Location: Lynn/Danvers
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $77,358.00 - $80,000.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Coordinator of Transfer Services (Coordinator of Transfer Affairs) plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless academic experience for students by implementing comprehensive advising services and supporting smooth transitions for those seeking to transfer. This position is key to fostering student success, maintaining academic continuity, and facilitating the transfer process for students pursing advanced educational opportunities. The Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of transfer services, including but not limited to organizing transfer fairs, training NSCC professional advising staff and faculty advisors on MassTransfer and Commonwealth Commitment, and staying current with articulation agreements. This role requires strong administrative, interpersonal, and organizational skills, along with a deep commitment to student development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Oversee and coordinate the delivery of transfer services, including but not limited to transfer counseling, providing up-to-date transfer information (specifically MassTransfer and articulation agreements), and updating course equivalency information.
- Design and maintain transfer websites and promote the website as an advising tool and provide advisors with web access to transfer course equivalency, articulation agreements, transfer applications and more.
- Coordinate college transfer fairs and college transfer day programs.
- In collaboration with members of the NSCC community, i.e. TRIO Support Services, R.I.S.E. Program, etc., arrange visits to four-year college and/or college fairs.
- Coordinate individual visits by four-year college personnel and on-site admissions days.
- Create and implement workshops on preparing for transfer.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for articulation agreements, managing the process from initial request through review, approval and final implementation.
- Performs administrative tasks associated with transfer department activities; serve on statewide transfer committees, college committees, act as a transfer consultant to established college committees.
- Participate in the development of college programs and curriculum; act as a transfer resource to administration, students, parents, faculty, staff, counselors and other academic institutions and organizations.
- Compile, analyze and report various transfer statistics.
- Collaborate with Institutional Research to produce an annual transfer report using data from the National Student Clearinghouse.
- Participate in College Activities, including but not limited to Commencement, Convocation, Governance, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Advising & Retention
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field; with seven (7) years' experience and/or training that includes academic advisement, career counseling, students' assessment, crisis intervention, project management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of the student support resources and the transfer process.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with college and external career resources and regional labor market.
- Demonstrated commitment to student success.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have the ability to commute between campuses and to off campus events.
- Successful experience interactive with culturally diverse populations.
- Strong technology skills and knowledge of various technological systems such as Customer Relationship Management and Student Information Systems.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National Background check as a condition of employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Community College experience
- Must be comfortable serving the public face to face or remotely using technology and able to work effectively both independently and in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
