Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The School of Social Work (SSW) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position as the PSLP Curriculum Coordinator for the Public Service Leadership Program (PSLP) funded by ‘The Workforce is Here: How to Support Thriving Communities and Healthy North Carolina Children, Individuals, Families, and Elders via Social Work Interventions and Research’ grant program. This initiative plans to develop and offer a statewide, three-tiered public service certificate for both pre-service students at the high school, community college/undergraduate and masters levels and in-service practitioners currently employed in public sector social work settings.
Position Summary
The PSLP Curriculum Coordinator will work directly with the PSLP Workforce Development Curriculum Engineer to implement and provide academic support for pre-service and in-service PSLP practitioners and students at undergraduate and graduate levels. This role encompasses supporting the implementation and future development of innovative curricula focused on public sector social work practice and engagement with underserved populations within the social work workforce. This position will be located at Western Carolina University and will provide support to all western North Carolina social work programs in the region: Appalachian State University, Mars Hill University, Warren Wilson College, and Western Carolina University. The candidate must reside within a commutable distance of at least one of these universities. The position will require up to 25% travel.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master’s or Bachelor’s and 0-2 years’ experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.
