Organization Overview
The new Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC) will be named the "Rockefeller University Clinical Research Center" (RCRC). The University remains committed to its mission of improving the understanding of science for the benefit of humanity through both clinical and basic research in a diverse range of biological and biomedical issues. The outpatient D&TC reflects the evolution in clinical research to outpatient studies.
Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations drives vision, strategy, goals, and research/business plan by providing comprehensive administrative, fiscal, HR, and compliance oversight for the Diagnostic and Treatment Center (D&TC). The role has a strong emphasis on supporting research operations, grant management, regulatory compliance, and supervision of administrative staff.
Responsibilities
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversees budgetary and utilization aspects of protocol review (ACCTS), SOPs, inter-institutional and federal relationships.
- Manages facilities, equipment, vendor contracts, and compliance with DOH/regulatory bodies. Maintains liaison role with SNF and other funding entities as applicable. Focus on supporting scientific mission and investigators. Prepares and monitors DTC budgets (all revenue/expenses).
- Manages study budgets, grants/contracts, and patient billing. Oversees invoicing and payment structures for funded studies.
- Oversees recruitment, onboarding, training, performance reviews, merit, and discipline. Develops staff development programs (orientation, CE, in-services). Ensures staffing is appropriate to demand and volume. Ensures safety and compliance with NYS DOH, NIH, NCATS, and other federal agencies and funders.
- Oversees safety/environment compliance (lab safety, infection control, plant operations).
- Manages grant compliance and reporting. Liaison with investigators, federal grant administrators, auditors, and advisory committees, in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Supports investigators in grant prep, reporting, and resource allocation. Strong research community alignment.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree, including at least eight (8) years of required research experience, is required.
- Position requires in-person, onsite presence.
- Must be proficient in computer platforms, including MS Office Suite. Strong technical proficiency and quantitative skills are required. Must have the highest level of discretion to handle confidential information.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work with diplomacy and efficiency in a high-demand, dynamic research environment. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, along with attention to detail, are essential. Initiative and self-motivation are critical.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An advanced degree and prior experience in an academic or research institution are strongly preferred.
Compensation Range
Min: USD $200,000.00/Yr.
Max: USD $215,000.00/Yr.
