POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary duty of the Director of Post-Graduate Affairs is to lead the department of Post-Graduate Affairs as we develop new post-graduate residency and fellowship programs and support the programs of our partner institutions. The Director of Post-Graduate Affairs will also facilitate advising efforts for medical students of the COM and develop and lead the continuing medical education accreditation and programming provided by the COM to our partner institutions. The qualified applicant must possess excellent leadership, communication, organization, multitasking, customer service, flexibility, and teamwork skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Post-Graduate Affairs to develop new residency and fellowship training programs supporting the application, fundraising, grant-writing, and other developmental tasks essential to launching new training programs.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Dean for Post-Graduate Affairs to support residency and fellowship programs at clinical partner institutions with accreditation, faculty development, simulation, clinical education, and other needs.
- Supports medical student clinical career counseling program and resource development to include data tracking, resource material development, and being available to assist students and faculty advisors.
- Leads the accreditation efforts with ACCME and the AOA to become and maintain status as an accredited sponsor of continuous medical education programming leading the development and rollout of this content along with the Assistant Dean for Post-Graduate Affairs.
- Provides support and cross departmental collaboration with the Department of Clinical Affairs to support our clinical teaching campuses to include assistance with events, ceremonies, and other duties as assigned and necessary.
- Serves on College and University Committees as assigned by the Dean and participates in medical student interviews and other duties as a leader of the COM to include supervision of the departmental coordinator.
- This position requires some daytime travel as well as some night and weekend work throughout the year.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 1+ years of customer service experience.
- 3-5 years of work experience required in GME and/or higher education.
- Current PA Driver’s license in good standing.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Nursing or Healthcare Field, or Public Health.
- Previous work experience in a medical school setting.
- Experience managing clinical placements in UME, GME, or health professional school.
- Upholds the highest standards for regionally accredited, competitive programs.
- 1+ years of higher education-related work experience preferred.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Ability to multi-task
- Microsoft Office Suite expertise: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher as well as Outlook e-mail.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to learn internal University systems.
- Willingness and ability to utilize new technologies relevant to the position.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.
