Director of Student Affairs
Overview
Quinnipiac University invites applications for the position of Director of Student Affairs at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, the Director of Student Affairs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for programs and services that support medical students throughout their academic journey. This role is central to shaping a positive, responsive, and student-centered experience within the School of Medicine.

Quinnipiac University is a private, coeducational institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. The university currently has an enrollment of 9,700 students in more than 100-degree programs through its Schools of Business, Communications, Computing & Engineering, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Medicine, Nursing and the College of Arts & Sciences.
Responsibilities
Advising and Professional Development Support
- Support the student advisory system
- Development of career exploration activities; as well as workshops for the promotion of professional identity and leadership development.
- Provide support to learning communities.
Wellness
- Develop and coordinate robust Wellness Support Services for medical students that focuses on the wellbeing of medical students and development of resilience.
- Maintaining and supporting training that promotes a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for students.
Student Engagement
- Oversee management of medical student government and interest groups.
- Oversee approval process for student conference funding.
- Coordinate and implement event programming as directed by the Associate Dean for Student Affairs including but not limited to: White Coat, Gold Humanism Honor Society Induction Ceremony, Match Day, Recommitment to Medicine, and Commencement.
Compliance and Education Support
Under supervision of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, monitor clinical compliance including background checks and drug screens of current and matriculated students. Support guidance to fourth-year students on the residency application process. Organize and oversee annual orientation sessions. Support residency application programs including ERAS, Residency CAS, VSLO, and NRMP.
Office of Student Affairs Administrative Oversight
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for student affairs programs.
- Provide logistical oversight as well as contribute to long-range planning.
- Compile necessary documentation and reports for accreditation.
- Manage Office of Student Affairs budget.
- Maintain the Office of Student Affairs electronic platforms.
- Supervise support staff and student workers.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, public administration, health professions education, or a related field.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of progressive student affairs experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting students in complex academic environments, preferably within a medical school or health sciences program
- Progressive responsibility and/or supervisory experience
- Large scale event and project management experience
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
