Director, Student Support and Accessibility Resources
The Director of Student Support and Accessibility Resources provides leadership and supervision for ADA accommodations, emergency resources, counseling and adaptive lab operations. The Director serves as the primary institutional advocate for disabilities and has direct responsibility to uphold the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments on campus. Primary responsibilities include department leadership and budget management; oversight of programs that support student well-being, crisis intervention, disability services, related compliance; community outreach, and partnerships and representation.
- Ensure the timely and reasonable intake, verification, and accommodation process for students with disabilities to ensure legal compliance and resolve related grievances.
- Direct the research, development, and implementation of advocacy initiatives, policies, and programs to ensure full institutional adherence to ADA / ADAAA, Section 504, and other state/federal mandates.
- Manage student disability documentation and ensure adherence to federal/state legal mandates.
- Monitor changes in state/federal laws and maintain compliance with legislative and college policy to ensure accountability and legal requirements
- Oversee and ensure completion of all reporting requirements for grant funded initiatives and staff related to student support, well being, and accessibility.
- Resolve student and faculty grievances or complaints related to accommodations, lead the formal appeals process, and collaborate with campus departments and leadership on accessibility.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, professional development, work product, and performance evaluation of specialized service providers
- Lead the crisis intervention process and team, including immediate response to students in crisis, coordination of support meetings, and connections to internal and external resources.
- Develop and facilitate campus programs and promotional materials, including digital and printed resources, to increase awareness of disability services, accessibility, and ways to ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Manage staff, budgets, schedule, timesheets, and departmental records while maintaining updated operating procedures and processes.
- Develop and report on departmental goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to college leadership and all appropriate departments.
- Provide consultation and professional development to faculty, staff, and administrators regarding student rights and the implementation of reasonable accommodations.
- Facilitate partnerships with High School Child Study Teams, transition programs, parents, and prospective students to ensure seamless entry into the college environment.
- Oversee the development and management of accessible content for departmental web, print, and digital materials.
- Represent the College on standing committees, task forces, and at local, state, and national professional associations.

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree required in social work, psychology, disability services, counseling, or a related field; Master's degree in a similar area preferred
Experience Required:
Minimum of (5) years of professional experience working with neurodivergent college students and/or adults and demonstrated expertise in implementing evidence-based accommodations for students with medical, physical, psychiatric, and learning disabilities and differences in addition to direct experience working with regulations pertaining to the ADA, ADAA, and Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as amended and other related laws.
Experience in a higher education department with staff supervisory experience, previous experience in collective bargaining environment, demonstrated work creating and managing accommodations in community college settings in compliance with legal requirements, demonstrated experience compiling accurate and thorough documentation of meetings / interactions and escalations of critical issues to college leadership, counseling experience for college students, direct experience with case management is preferred.
