Job Summary
The Dual Enrollment Counselor serves as the primary point of contact for students from admission through enrollment, providing academic counseling to support a seamless transition into the dual enrollment program. The counselor plays an integral role in student recruitment, onboarding, and enrollment efforts by building formative relationships with students and their supporters, helping them navigate program requirements, and complete course registration. This position is essential in fostering student engagement, academic success, and retention within the dual enrollment pathway. This hybrid position uses a territory-based caseload management approach to student recruitment and enrollment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a defined caseload of dual enrollment students based on geographic territory, ensuring consistent, individualized support throughout the student lifecycle
- Maintain and update the approved dual enrollment course list in GATRACS
- Serve as the primary counselor liaison for assigned school districts, high schools, and independent education partners within the designated territory
- Conduct regular check-ins (in-person, virtual, or phone) with students, parents/guardians, and school counselors to provide academic planning and registration assistance
- Coordinate and lead territory-specific outreach and recruitment events, including info sessions, fairs, onboarding presentations, orientation workshops, and other activities to strengthen partnerships and enrollment
- Maintain detailed documentation of student interactions, academic goals, and progress within the student information system
- Monitor academic progress and engagement trends of students within assigned territory, identifying early indicators of risk and implementing intervention strategies
- Advise dual enrollment students on course selection that satisfies both high school and potential future degree requirements
- Support students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals
- Monitor student academic progress and proactively address academic challenges
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
Two (2) years of related academic or student services experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated experience in academic counseling or student development, especially in a dual enrollment or high school partnership context
Proposed Salary
$24.03 per hour. This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
