POSITION SPECIFICS
The unit of Justice and Safety Institute out of University Outreach is looking to fill the position of Education Program Specialist. The Education Program Specialist identifies, develops, delivers, manages and evaluates a portfolio of non-credit educational/professional development programs or initiatives from conception to evaluation; provides leadership, consultation, program coordination, technical assistance and related services in the field of education/training; evaluates and prepares recommendations for ongoing and proposed programs; develops and maintains relationships with academic units, organizations, industry, and agencies to determine programming needs. Positions within this profile are focused on community engagement and outreach directed towards external audiences (i.e., Continuing Education).
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, manage, deliver, and evaluate educational programs and related materials; consult and assess client needs
- Determine curriculum objectives, goals, and evaluation tools; analyze and assess program outcomes
- Develop course materials, including publications, web content, and presentations; identify and recruit instructional program personnel
- Collaborate with academic departments to leverage faculty expertise and align non-credit programs with academic pathways
- Serve as a point of contact for prospective and current continuing education students
- Maintain compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation requirements
- Develop and implement marketing plans for educational programs and services
- Plan and manage budgets for programs and services to meet assigned income and program targets; identify and pursue funding opportunities
- Generate and prepare reports; gather and analyze data, and make data-informed recommendations
- Track enrollment, completion, and satisfaction metrics to evaluate program effectiveness
- Conduct needs assessments and market research to identify new program opportunities
- Cultivate, develop, and maintain relationships with community organizations, government agencies, industry leaders, and businesses on the local and national level
- Develop proposals and negotiate contracts; administer program grants
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None
Preference:
Has experience as a sworn supervisor of law enforcement officers, particularly in a training function, such as police academies, in-service training programs, or specialized training processes.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $81,500.00.
