Engagement Coordinator, Sustainability, Part Time
Fosters a culture of environmental awareness and action by developing programs, events, and initiatives that engage students, faculty, staff, and community members. Collaborates with campus departments and external partners to promote sustainability, encourages participation, and supports a more sustainable university community.
- Coordinates and implements student engagement initiatives, including workshops, volunteer opportunities, and peer education programs
- Contributes to sustainability communications, including newsletters, social media, and website content
- Builds and maintains partnerships with student organizations, faculty, staff, and community groups to support sustainability goals
- Supports the planning and execution of campus-wide and community sustainability events, and volunteer opportunities
- Serves as a visible and approachable representative of the sustainability department at events and meetings, etc.
- Develops and implements outreach campaigns, and events to raise awareness and promote sustainability across campus
- Collects and reports engagement metrics to assess impact and inform future programming
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Sustainability, Environmental Studies or Sciences or related field. Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license. Two (2) years related professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications: An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines. Proven experience facilitating training, workshops or educational programs and leading teams. Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgement, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills. Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite). Proficient with communication and social media platforms such as: Instagram, LinkedIn and Canva. Strong attention to detail and follow up skills. Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette.
