- Campus independent - Can be based at La Trobe University’s Melbourne (Bundoora) or Victorian regional campuses (Bundoora campus preferred)

- Base salary from $103,171 per annum (pro rata .6) + 17% Superannuation

About the position
This position provides proactive executive support and strategic policy advice to senior University committees of Council and Academic Board, ensuring effective governance and informed decision-making. The role applies substantial theoretical and professional expertise to complex matters, exercising sound judgement and interpretation across a range of issues. Acting as Executive Officer to assigned committees, the incumbent anticipates stakeholder needs, supports change initiatives and provides expert governance advice.
Key responsibilities include developing annual work plans; preparing and maintaining agendas, minutes and official records; coordinating communication between committees and stakeholders; and undertaking research and policy analysis to ensure Chairs and members are well informed. The role also supports Committee Chairs in fulfilling their responsibilities, reviews and improves governance processes, negotiates outcomes across diverse interests, and contributes to continuous governance improvement initiatives across the University, as directed by the Manager, Governance.

Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
- An undergraduate degree in any area relevant to the position with at least 4 years subsequent experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated organisation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to manage several different projects concurrently.
- Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and personal management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to form a detailed knowledge of academic and administrative policies and the interrelationships between a range of policies and activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
