As the Executive Support and Events Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. You will provide high-quality administrative and executive support, manage School committees, and oversee governance functions. Your role will also involve coordinating strategic events and fostering key partnerships. This position offers you the opportunity to work closely with leadership and contribute to impactful activities within a vibrant academic environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide Executive Support: Manage diaries, emails, travel arrangements, and prepare correspondence and reports for the Head of School and senior management
- Facilitate School Committees: Prepare agenda papers, take minutes, track action items, and communicate changes via email and SharePoint
- Coordinate Events and Engagement: Support strategic School events, represent the professional team on the Engagement committee, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Manage Academic Processes: Administer academic HR-related processes, including Performance Development Reviews and honorary appointments
You may be a great fit if:
You will be an organised and proactive professional with excellent interpersonal skills, ready to provide high-level executive support and coordinate strategic events, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the School.
You may also:
- Have completed a tertiary qualification or possess relevant work experience and/or training
- Be adept at managing tasks independently with excellent attention to detail
- Possess experience in coordinating professional events and engagement activities
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to manage competing responsibilities
- Exhibit excellent communication skills, capable of preparing correspondence and governance documentation
- Be committed to providing quality service while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
- Have a flexible attitude and adaptability in a changing environment
