Position Summary: Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is hiring adjunct faculty to teach courses in our Communications program. Faculty may teach COM 110, COM 231, COM 140, COM 150, and/or COM 120 face-to-face on campus in Concord, Salisbury, and/or Kannapolis. This is not an online-only position, but may include online, hyflex, or hybrid classes in the future. All interested applicants must be able to teach in-person, or you will not be considered for the position.
Required Education/Experience:
- Masters degree in Communication or Communication Studies; or masters degree with a concentration in Communication (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline – COM).

Work Hours: As needed Sunday – Saturday

Duty and Responsibility:
- Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content in order to achieve course objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
- Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
- Communicate and follow course syllabus content in accordance with directions provided and administrative guidance.
- Work collaboratively with the Colleges support services to identify and address the students academic support needs.
- Utilize College technology for the delivery of instruction and completion of operational processes; this includes but is not limited to the Colleges learning management system, email and calendaring solution, document management system(s), student information system, and employee portals.
- Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
- When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is in safe operating order.
- Facilitate a positive, student-centered, and professional environment among students, faculty and staff.
