Faculty Research Assistant

The Department of Psychology is seeking a full-time Faculty Research Assistant to support ongoing behavior analysis research over a 1-year appointment. This role is suited for individuals with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology or related field who are interested in behavior analysis and behavioral science. Expected start date will be July 1, 2026.

The position will support translational and applied research examining how principles of behavior analysis can be used to improve employee performance, staff training, and promote health-related behaviors. Projects may involve assisting with the implementation of behavioral interventions in workplace and community-based settings.

The Research Assistant will assist with participant recruitment, data collection, behavioral task administration, data management, and preparation of study materials under the supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Matthew Novak.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Lead development of lab materials and systems
• Assist with recruitment and screening of research participants.
• Coordinate study logistics and support participant scheduling.
• Collect and manage behavioral/experimental data according to study protocols.
• Conduct literature searches and assist in preparation of manuscripts for publication
• Maintain clear, ethical, and compliant study documentation (including IRB materials).

Required Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in psychology, behavioral science, or related field. Coursework or experience working in behavior analysis and familiarity with behavioral research methods and experimental design.

Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in psychology, behavioral science, or related field. Interest in human operant behavior research paradigms or clinical trials and experience with computer programming and statistical software (e.g., Visual Basic, R, Python)
