Job Summary
The Financial Literacy Specialist designs, implements, and evaluates financial education initiatives to help students manage finances, including financial aid, loans, budgeting, and planning. This role collaborates with campus departments to provide workshops, coaching, and resources to improve student financial well-being and support graduation persistence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead workshops on budgeting, loans, financial aid, credit, and savings.
- Provide individual financial coaching and refer students to appropriate services.
- Collaborate with offices like Financial Aid and Career Services for coordinated programs.
- Track participation and impact of financial literacy efforts.
- Maintain online resources and integrate financial literacy into campus programs.
- Assist with student employment and long-term financial decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, education, counseling, social work, or related field.
- Experience working with students in a college setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in student affairs or related field.
- Experience in financial counseling or aid.
- Familiarity with federal student aid programs.
Salary Information
Salary ranges from $40,308 to $52,476 annually, with comprehensive benefits including health insurance and tuition waiver.
