Duties & Responsibilities:
The Financial Technician will support the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Department research administration team by coordinating travel and procuring goods and services. This includes but is not limited to: coordinating and overseeing all travel documents, making travel reservations, adhering to university methods and policies to procure goods, soliciting bids from vendors, negotiating with vendors, maintaining appropriate records, etc. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with Basic Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Intermediate to advanced PC computing skills including: email, Microsoft Excel, web-based reporting applications, and import/export of data
- Ability to be precise, thorough, reliable, work independently, highly detailed-oriented, and adapt to frequent changes in work assignments
- Ability to reason, think logically, apply knowledge, analyze situations to achieve appropriate outcomes
- Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience handling fiscal responsibilities including sponsored funds accounting in a university, local, state or federal setting
- Experience using Banner, Jaggaer (RealSource), and Emburse Enterprise (Chrome River)
Position will remain open until filled.
Salary Range: Up to $45,000, commensurate with experience
