"Fitter / Plumber"

We are looking for a qualified plumber / fitter to join the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) in the Estates department. Working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, you will be helping to deliver an excellent maintenance service direct to our customers.

We’d like to hear from you if you:

• Hold a recognised apprenticeship in City and Guilds/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in plumbing or a mechanical discipline/HVAC
• Hold an up-to-date Gas Safe domestic and commercial qualification (training will be funded for this as necessary).
• Are experienced in working within a reactive maintenance environment.
• Can work well as part of a team and independently.
• Are available to participate in a mandatory out of hours 1 week in 5 ‘on-call’ rota
• Can communicate and deliver excellent customer service.

This is a full-time, open-ended position of 35 hours per week. Hours of work normally will be 8am to 4pm, with one hour for lunch.

Starting Salary: £33,348.52 per annum rising to £34,290.40 on 1st August after 1 years’ full service.

The salary above includes an allowance of £3,389.52 per annum, paid in equal monthly instalments, to cover the following:

• You will be required to work 1 week in every 5 on the on-call rota: -
• This will require you to work an additional hour each day between 4pm and 5pm, Monday to Friday,
• Stand by and call out weekends 8am Saturday to 8am Monday. Any additional work carried out during your call out will also attract an overtime payment in line with the University’s Grade 1-4 Enhanced Payment Policy
