Full-time Employer Services Specialist
Job Description
Montgomery College has an immediate need for a Full-time Employer Services Specialist with Student Employment Services. The work schedule is 8:30 a.m. -5 p.m. with occasional evenings for special events. This position will split time between Germantown and Rockville Campus. This is a Non-Bargaining, Non-Exempt Grade 27 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. This position is currently eligible for telework 1 day(s) a week. This eligibility is subject to change based on the needs of the unit.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serve as initial point-person at the College for employers wanting to recruit College students.
- Identify needs of prospective employer and facilitate appropriate steps and follow-up to ensure needs are met.
- Manage employer service modules of the online recruitment and labor exchange system and assist employers with posting of jobs/internships.
- Establish and cultivate employer relationships with key corporations, government agencies, and non-profits.
- Facilitate linkages between employers and internship programs at Montgomery College.
- Establish partnerships with academic departments/programs to connect qualified students to industry specific employment opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategic employer development plan to increase job and internship opportunities for students.
- Manage the employment outcome module and or external surveys and to track student employment outcomes.
- Lead employer recruitment efforts for annual job fairs and other employment related events.
- Develop and manage marketing strategy to increase employer recruitment activities.
- Oversee planning and evaluation of employer on-campus recruiting and capture program data and outcomes.
- Identify optimal candidates for employer partnership programs.
- Provide advice on the local labor market and hiring trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business, counseling, career development, social science, and or a related field providing an understanding of the job subject matter or the equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in talent acquisition, employer relationship development, or employment services.
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in higher-education career services or a student-focused employment environment
- Experience developing and managing employer partnerships for jobs and or internships for early-career recruitment.
- Proficiency with online recruitment and career platforms such as College Central Network, Handshake, Symplicity or similar systems.
- Experience using social media and digital communication tools strategically to enhance employer outreach, promote recruitment events, and strengthen student engagement.
Hiring Range:
$31.69 to $41.19/hourly. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $50.69/hourly
