Full-Time Temporary Faculty, Special Education
Job Description
This is a full-time, one year, non-tenure track position in special education. The successful applicant will teach courses in special education, supervise pre-service teacher candidates, and engage in service to the Special Education Program Area, the School of Teacher Education and Leadership, and the College.
Required Qualifications
A master’s degree in special education or related field; substantial experience working with K-12 students with disabilities and educators in an academic setting; interest in and expertise to teach courses in special education with particular emphasis in one or more of the following areas: legal aspects, characteristics of students with disabilities, collaboration and co-teaching, assessment, and specially designed instruction.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in field; experience providing professional development to educators or teaching at the college level; experience providing clinical supervision to pre-service or in-service teachers; knowledge of contemporary instructional technologies, including online course delivery technologies. Experience and expertise in teaching tier III math, reading and/or writing in the inclusive setting.
