Job Summary

As a full-time lecturer of business information management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM), you are part of a strong community of 90 researchers and lecturers. You join a department with a strong research and teaching tradition, along with an international orientation. The department is involved in specialized programs and post-experience education.

Responsibilities

You educate and inspire the next generation of managers as they investigate opportunities presented by data analytics (machine learning, deep learning, data mining) and new information technologies (platforms, cloud computing, AI, internet-of-things, blockchain). You contribute to education in the field of Information Systems and Data Science.

Qualifications and Requirements

You have or expect to soon complete a PhD in information systems, economics, computer science, marketing, econometrics, or a closely related field. You demonstrate a strong interest and proven track record in one of these fields. You have a strong background in quantitative empirical data analysis methods, such as econometrics, statistics, and machine learning. You have completed your University Teaching Qualification (BKO) or equivalent, or are willing to acquire it soon. You demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, familiarity with online education platforms (e.g., Canvas, Zoom), techniques for inspiring blended learning, and ability to provide critical yet constructive feedback. You are able to teach in English and Dutch, and you are a team player open to collaboration.

What the Employer Offers

A start date of 1 September 2025, or earlier if discussed. A temporary position for up to two years, with potential promotion to senior lecturer with a permanent contract based on excellent teaching. A competitive salary up to a maximum of €4,494 gross per month based on a full-time contract of 38 hours, subject to training and experience. Additional benefits include a holiday allowance of 8%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%, considerable vacation days, and excellent training and career development opportunities.
