Human Resources Administrative Specialist

We are seeking a Human Resources Administrative Specialist who thrives on organization, anticipation, and impact—and who wants their work to matter. This role is far more than administrative support. You will be a trusted operational partner to senior HR leadership, ensuring the Michigan Medicine Compensation, HRIS, and Payroll functions run smoothly, efficiently, and with integrity.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Visibility & trust: Directly support the Senior Director of Compensation, HRIS & Payroll and the leadership team.
  • Meaningful scope: Support compensation programs, ServiceNow intake, budgeting, audits, and department operations.
  • Operational ownership: Establish rhythm, structure, and order in a fast-moving, high-impact HR environment.
  • Growth-oriented: Build skills across HR operations, systems, analytics support, and project coordination.

Apply today and help power the HR operations behind one of the nation’s leading health systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Keep the department running seamlessly by anticipating needs and resolving issues before they escalate
  • Manage compensation-related intake through ServiceNow and departmental inboxes
  • Support annual compensation planning processes and related initiatives
  • Organize and maintain documentation to support audits, compliance, and tracking
  • Coordinate meetings, calendars, materials, and logistics for leadership and project teams
  • Process vendor invoices and track departmental budgets
  • Maintain HR intranet content and support policy and process implementation
  • Lead and support projects while serving as backup to other HR administrative specialists

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in HR or a related environment
  • Strong technology literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, and organizational skills
  • A proactive mindset with a bias toward action, curiosity, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across diverse teams
  • Commitment to Michigan Medicine’s core values: caring, innovation, inclusion, integrity, and teamwork
