The Department of Experimental Psychology has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Assistant to join our friendly Professional Services Team in a new, permanent post. This role is permanent, full-time (36.5 hours per week). Part-time will be considered, with a minimum of 0.8 FTE. The role is based within the Life and Mind Building with flexibility to work from home for up to 40% of time once established in post.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will be responsible for the day-to-day aspects of a broad range of recruitment and HR administration as well as providing administrative support to HR colleagues. The role is busy and varied and will include liaison with employees, managers, applicants and visitors to the Department. For the right candidate, there will be opportunities for personal and professional development.

About the department

The Department of Experimental Psychology is a large, internationally recognised department with a high volume of academic activity and a fast-paced, research-driven culture. The department has recently moved to its new home in The Life and Mind building. This exciting development provides exceptional research and teaching facilities along with space for public engagement and outreach. It also offers renewed commitment to work across disciplinary boundaries to further knowledge across the psychological and biological sciences and to solve major global challenges.

About you

You will have experience of working in an HR or recruitment team and will be confident using our HR system, People XD. You will also have excellent administrative skills as well as the ability to prioritise your workload and produce accurate and detailed work within deadlines. The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, to build effective working relationships with colleagues and to handle confidential information appropriately are also essential for this role.
