Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University
About The Position
The Industry Engagement Coordinator for the College of STEM is responsible for facilitating effective industry engagement to secure placement sites for students that align with program needs and university strategies. Their main duties include collaborating with industry professionals and college staff to identify quality engagement opportunities, supporting business development initiatives across the STEM college, and fostering a multidisciplinary approach to partnerships. Additionally, they assist in organizing Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) events for partners, create marketing materials to attract new placement sites, and actively contribute to team culture while seeking process improvement and risk mitigation.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
The ability to work and promote STEM college programs to the industry with a focus on Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities.
High level communication, relationship building, and negotiation skills to work collaboratively with academic and professional staff, students, and external clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
An understanding of the industry sectors related to the STEM College programs and their relation to WIL.
Exposure and knowledge of the industry growth areas related to the STEM college and their associated innovative ecosystem.
The ability to work across a business development workflow, including lead generation, conversion, and account/relationship management.
Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act without specific direction where appropriate.
Commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
