Instructional Facilitator (Part-Time) (Multiple Positions) (Oro Valley, AZ)
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Arizona seeks an Instructional Facilitator. The Instructional Facilitator serves as a key partner in supporting effective teaching and learning by providing guidance on curriculum delivery and instructional practices. Acting as a liaison between faculty, instructional designers, and students, the Instructional Facilitator offers recommendations on pedagogical approaches to enhance the learning experience. The Instructional Facilitator collaborates with instructional designers by providing feedback to ensure course content aligns with instructional goals.
This role also supports faculty in implementing and testing learning strategies, helps troubleshoot classroom challenges, and contributes to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Provides teaching, administrative, mid-level audio visual and technology support to faculty, staff and students, in the classrooms, labs, and spaces across CVM as needed. Collaborates with the college's Academic Technology Team to research, test and implement new processes and technologies to be utilized in the classrooms.
This position is a part-time in-person position with a work schedule that offers flexible days. The individual must be comfortable being in a classroom setting. This position requires being able to practice critical thinking and judgment, work under pressure, and the ability to be flexible.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicates and liaises with faculty course leads, Instructional Designers, Instructional Technology Professional team, Team Lead, UITS support staff, and other Academic Programs staff to execute course sessions and provide feedback and recommendations for the development of curriculum for all courses.
- Evaluates the effectiveness and alignment of curriculum during class sessions.
- Provides feedback to the instructors and Instructional Design team to ensure course materials remain current, relevant, and accurate.
- Provides targeted support to instructors implementing new technologies.
- Provides in person classroom support to the faculty and students.
- Provides feedback on delivery of course content to the Academic Technology Team.
- Enters grading information into relevant databases and learning management system, ensuring secure backup and informing appropriate audiences.
- Manages editing process for accurate and time sensitive data entry.
- Responsible for being fluent in the use of the college's applications and software to support the teaching and learning (e.g., Elentra, Allele, Zoom, Panopto, etc.).
- Produce training and support materials for faculty, staff, and students on instructional technologies.
- Reviews and assesses the efficacy of technologies and makes data-informed recommendations to leadership and staff.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in higher education.
- Respond to student technical needs and issues in courses.
- Attends trainings to stay updated as needed with changing applications and technology.
- Assist UITS LMS's team as needed.
- Acts as Lead lab & classroom support person for all Anatomy labs/classes.
- Facilitates and supports course exams and troubleshoots the electronic exam process and protects exam security.
- Computerizes and imports data files to produce reports.
- Maintains course protocols, materials, exam questions, and test results.
- Responsible for maintaining and the organization of classroom supplies and ordering as approved.
- Acts as the back-up to the lead Instructional Technology Professional (ITP) to answer any questions the team has around classroom support, exam support, faculty requests and classroom technology.
- Acts as the back-up to the lead Instructional Technology Professional (ITP) to create and manage the classroom/lab support schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree or higher required, and Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Qualifications: Experience facilitating professional learning workshops or trainings.
