Job Description
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) seeks individuals with demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment. The Department of Economics is seeking a Lecturer with an MA degree or higher in Economics or a related field to fill a temporary, part-time (less than 50%), non-tenure-track teaching position beginning January 2026.
The Department seeks a lecturer to teach Economics courses, such as Principles of Macroeconomics, International Finance, International Trade, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, and graduate level Macroeconomic Theory. This position will teach no more than two courses per semester. Appointments will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department and subject to budgetary approval.
What you will do:
- Serve as instructor of record for course(s) assigned.
- Deliver curriculum, design, and grade assessments and assign grades.
- Work with the department to ensure that the class meets pedagogical standards and is appropriate scaffolded in curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.A. or M.S. in Economics or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics or related field.
- Experience teaching in a higher education environment in related field to teaching assignment(s).

- Ability to communicate in a positive and effective manner, across various modalities.
- Ability to effectively listen and share relevant information.
- Ability to establish and respond to, as well as, balance multiple work priorities, follow through, and meet established deadlines.

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

- Experience in online or hybrid delivery.
Conditions of Employment
This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $1,704 per credit hour (undergraduate level courses) and $1,849 per credit hour (graduate level courses).
