Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Counseling on the Cumming Campus. Projected start date is January 5, 2025. This 12-month grant funded position is specifically designed to support an upcoming partnership between the University of North Georgia's Master of Science in Counseling (MSC) program and Forsyth County k-12 schools. The goal of this partnership is to provide increased support for mental health and substance use needs of k-12 students. This position will therefore provide clinical and instructional support to MSC students in this venture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in Masters-level counseling courses.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Masters-level interns.
  • Support departmental, college, & university functions, including serving on committees.
  • Partner with k-12 schools in an effort to support MSC students working in Forsyth County schools.
  • Coordinate clinical education experiences within the k-12 Forsyth County school system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Master's degree from a CACREP-accredited program.
  • Must have a professional identity as a counselor.
  • Must be licensed (or license-eligible) as a professional counselor in the State of Georgia.
  • Knowledge and experience working in addiction
  • Knowledge and experience working in k-12 schools
  • Knowledge and experience working with children and adolescents

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Counselor Education or ABD from a CACREP accredited program, or related degree.
  • CPCS Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor or ACS Approved Clinical Supervisor.
  • GACA Certified Master Addiction Counselor (CMAC) or certification eligible.
  • NBCC Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) or Certification eligible.
