Lecturer in Experimental Aerospace Engineering

We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Lecturer in Experimental Aerospace Engineering, to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Engineering.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape multidiscipline Aerospace Engineering education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and leading cutting-edge modules in the Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies, providing mentorship to other staff, students, and contributing to research initiatives and external collaborations.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong academic background and deep expertise in thermofluids and aerodynamics. Significant experience in designing and conducting practical experiments in aerospace or related fields, both for teaching and research purposes, is essential.

Furthermore, individuals with a research-oriented mind-set will have the opportunity to explore their passions in Aerospace and Aviation, contributing to scholarly activities. About you

We require candidates that have a diverse skill set and is well-versed or can evidence strong expertise and experience in experimental thermofluids and aerodynamics, as well as guiding students through the core concepts of Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers.

You should have, or near completion of, postgraduate qualification in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline. If from a professional practice/industry background, successful applicants will have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with relevant professional experience within the Aerospace and Aviation sector. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is advantageous.

You should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas. The Appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of all aerospace and pilot studies related modules.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus.
