Job Summary:
This position will teach multiple sections of Intermediate Financial Reporting I with the possibility of taking on course(s) in other areas in accounting as determined by department needs and candidate expertise. Course delivery will take place in person on the UW-Madison campus.
The lecturer is responsible for course work preparation in alignment with learning outcomes, original content creation, holding office hours, preparation and execution of appropriate assessments, administration of the course and grading consistent with the policies of the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB).
We are looking for a candidate committed to collaboration, student-centered and inclusive learning, and research-based/applied curriculum design and development. A well-qualified candidate will have experience in course or training development, inclusive design, and/or in developing assignments and activities that help all students meet stated learning outcomes. Experience working with and serving a diverse group of learners is preferred.
This position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of course(s) listed, or similar courses within the department. The FTE for this position has the potential to fluctuate depending on the number of classes taught. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment
This position is part-time, between 10% - 66.68% FTE.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or a related area (including teaching experience in accounting).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in accounting or finance at the undergraduate or graduate level
Education:
- Master's Degree or higher in business, with at least one undergraduate degree in accounting or Master of Accountancy, required.
