Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Asian Studies and Japanese in the Department of World Languages and Cultures with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of Asian Studies and Japanese Language and Culture. The teaching load is 5/4 for the year.
• Limited service is expected.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a Master's, or the foreign equivalent, in Asian Studies, Japanese, or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
• Documented record of experience in teaching undergraduate level Asian cultural courses and/or Japanese courses in face to face, hybrid and/or online environments.
• Native/near-native language proficiency in Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and/or teaching online or hybrid courses.
• Experience in developing curriculum, course materials, and effective assessment.
• Familiarity with current trends in language pedagogy, cultural studies, and related technologies.
• Experience in organizing co-curricular activities, program recruitment, and advising student groups.
