Manager, Grants Program Development
Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, with independent judgment, performs highly technical and complex grants and resource development duties to advance the college's mission and strategic goals. Responsible for assisting faculty and staff with all phases of public and private grants development including needs assessment, subject matter research, program/project development, and grant writing/proposal development.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors' degree in English, Education or related field
- Minimum of two years of full-time equated experience with public (federal and state) and private grant writing
- Minimum of one year of full-time experience with facilitating grants development teams for public and private grants, as well as experience in training others in developing grant programs and grant writing
- Must have supervised personnel a minimum of two years
- Direct experience with developing grant-funded programs
- Experience working in large, complex organizations
Job Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Working evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet grant deadlines is expected
- Requires moderate local and minimal out-of-state travel
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
- A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment. A signed authorization for the release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
