About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists within Swinburne University’s Legal, Risk and Compliance (LRC) unit for a senior integrity professional to play a pivotal role in safeguarding and strengthening the University’s integrity framework.

Reporting to the Director, Legal Compliance and Integrity, with a dotted line to the General Counsel in their capacity as Chief Integrity Officer, this role provides strategic leadership, expert advice, and operational oversight across all areas of university activity. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you will be a trusted subject matter expert and advisor on integrity-related matters, influencing policy, practice, and culture at an enterprise-wide level.

As the University’s integrity specialist, you will lead and enhance frameworks and processes covering conflict and declaration of interests, probity, gifts and benefits, fraud and corruption prevention, whistleblower protections, foreign interference, and national security obligations.

You will also be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrity and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring Swinburne meets its statutory, regulatory, and ethical obligations.

The role also plays a key part in strengthening the University’s child safety obligations through ongoing review, training, and collaboration with internal subject matter experts. As required, you will contribute expert advice and support to related areas such as complaints and reviews, academic misconduct, policy compliance, privacy, freedom of information, academic integrity, research ethics, and integrity matters.

This position is ideal for a proactive, highly credible professional who enjoys working at a strategic level, partnering with senior stakeholders, and making a meaningful impact on organisational integrity and governance.
