Manager, Vocational Education Quality
- Leadership role within VET Operations
- Full-time, ongoing position at our Wantirna and Hawthorn campus

About the Role
We are seeking a strategic leader to join our Vocational Education (VE) Quality and Policy team to lead quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and performance monitoring for vocational programs, while driving the continuous improvement of processes and practices.
In this role, you will provide leadership to a team of quality and policy professionals and, through collaborative engagement, foster a culture of continuous improvement and high standards of service delivery for students and stakeholders. You will be required to maintain strong working relationships across VET Operations and the broader organisation to support the achievement of strategic outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will require a strong balance of strategic thinking, operational delivery, and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to translate complex requirements into effective and sustainable systems and processes.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- A sound understanding of University policies in relation to VE quality and policy and knowledge of relevant Government regulations and their implications for the University.
- Demonstrated significant experience in the Vocational Education sector in quality and compliance areas with a particular focus on ASQA Standards
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and implement change in a complex multi-sector environment. Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and to influence key personnel on business practices.
- Demonstrated management ability, with experience in leading, developing, guiding and motivating staff reflecting a strong service orientation with a focus on results and outcomes.
- Proven ability to make a significant contribution to the University including the provision of authoritative advice relating to quality and policy in VE, the development of strategic and operational plans, and the design and implementation of process improvements.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or
- extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or
- an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
VE Quality and Policy unit
The VE Quality and Policy (VEQP) unit operates within VET Operations. The unit is responsible for the implementation of systematic and strategic approaches to education and quality across VE. The unit contributes to the achievement of the University’s vision of’ people and technology working together to build a better world’ through the development and implementation of robust quality assurance and improvement processes that will ensure Swinburne students have access to high-quality education that result in outstanding graduate outcomes.
