Position Overview
The Master of Healthcare Innovation Program Director is appointed by the dean and has delegated administrative responsibility for the overall oversight and implementation of the colleges Master of Healthcare Innovation Program in collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovation. This is a 12-month clinical track position with administrative effort of 25%. Productivity in scholarship and educational grants is an expectation of this position. Key duties involve strategic planning, curriculum design, faculty support, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement (clinicians, funders, community) and cultivating an innovative culture for nurses as leaders and entrepreneurship. The director for the Master of Healthcare Innovation reports to the senior associate dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Innovation.
Performance Objectives
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for nursing innovation, aligning with organizational goals, and identifying gaps for new solutions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and continuous improvement, leading teams and initiatives.
- Identifying and obtaining grant funding to support and expand programmatic initiatives.
- Create, continuously evaluate, and provide leadership for the refinement of curricula focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital health for nurses.
- Assist with continuous quality improvement of the master in healthcare and innovation program.
- Monitor program success, evaluate student outcomes and adjust programs based on data.
- In collaboration with the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Ohio State Online, plan and implement effective student recruitment, advisement and retention strategies.
- Assess the outcomes and needs of faculty for teaching effectiveness.
- Chair the Master in Healthcare Innovation subcommittee and attend the Graduate Studies Committee meetings.
- Represent the college on university committees focused on academic matters.
- Provide support and mentorship for faculty teaching in respective academic programs to assure the highest quality education for student learning.
- Participate in faculty recruitment and hiring to meet academic needs.

- Contribute to student enrollment management, admission, progression and compliance.
- Support and facilitate the identification and the development of educational partnerships.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required: Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g. nursing, medicine, health sciences). Nursing preferred.
Experience: Proven leadership in healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, with specialized background in research, evidence-based practice or entrepreneurship. Experience working with student populations and understanding of the challenges faced by graduate students.
Skills: Proven leadership and management skills. Expertise in design thinking, project management, healthcare finance, and stakeholder engagement.
Knowledge: Knowledge of academic curriculum and outcome measurement. Familiarity with research and scholarship in innovation and entrepreneurship.
