Missouri Teacher Development System Implementation Coordinator, RPDC, UMKC School of Education, Social Work, and Psychological Sciences
Job Description
This full-time (1.0 FTE), year-round position at the Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC), part of the University of Missouri-Kansas City's School of Education, is primarily funded through a contract with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The mission is to recruit, prepare, and support teachers, mental health professionals, and administrators for America's diverse urban communities. The position is located at Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Rd., KCMO Suite 401.
This role reports to the Director of the UMKC RPDC and collaborates with DESE staff to serve Missouri PK-12 educators, assist with statewide school improvement issues, and perform other duties as assigned.
Major Responsibilities and Activities:
- Coordinates the Teacher Development System (MTDS) for all LEAs throughout the state, including overseeing development and publishing of materials, facilitating induction and training of specialists, maintaining communication systems, coordinating data collection, providing reports, participating in certification requirements, engaging stakeholders, and representing MTDS at events.
- Coordinates teacher recruitment and retention grants, including administration, monitoring, providing training, developing TA models, and coordinating data collection.
- Coordinates EPP teacher education grants, including administration, monitoring, providing training, developing resource sites, and coordinating data collection.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED TRAVEL: Extensive in-state and occasional out-of-state travel is required. This position is externally funded and renewed annually based on performance and funding.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Education or related area (doctorate preferred), at least five years of teaching or administrative experience, and two years of leading complex projects.
Prerequisites and Preferred Characteristics
Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills, strong analytical and communication skills, and ability to develop effective working relationships.
Anticipated Hiring Range
$55,000-$60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
