(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.

Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Ensures operational needs for the KSU Bookstore are met, manages assigned staff and/or student assistants, and functions. Supervises sales floor activity and coverage and facilitates unique customer-heavy programs and processes.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Ensures general operational needs for all KSU Bookstore operations are met (i.e., store supplies, maintenance, and repair of business equipment, physical condition of facility and fixtures, posting hours of operation, etc.
  2. Responsible for managing all assigned staff and/or student assistants including but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, time approval, daily supervision, etc.
  3. Ensures integrity of cash drawers and all other transactions conducted through the registers
  4. Serves as primary customer service point of contact, ensures customer service is provided at the highest level through all channels by all employees
  5. Primary responsibility for monitoring main bookstore email account and phone messages
  6. Supervises order fulfillment and inventory control processes and related operations (i.e., resolving customer issues, managing package pickup, managing parcel lockers, etc.)
  7. Facilitates all aspects of specialty programs and related processes (i.e., book lists, book pickup and return, customer service issues) for unique groups such as Dual Enrollment and Scholarship Athletes
  8. In coordination with department leadership, ensures management level, cashier, and sales floor coverage for opening and closing periods is adequate
  9. Coordinates with team to assure adequate, engaged, staffing throughout the day
  10. Works closely with HR to facilitate hiring Student Assistants for all bookstore operations and assists department staff by facilitating the on-boarding and off-boarding processes
  11. Provides management and supervision to assigned locations, ensuring proper coverage and hours of operation
  12. Coordinates with other bookstore departmental teams to ensure relevant and required product is available
  13. Facilitates seasonal setup and breakdown of additional registers and other infrastructure needed during peak season or during special events
  14. Assists with providing general supervision, training, and support for all sales floor staff regardless of department within the KSU Bookstore

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant work experience including at least two (2) years supervisory experience.

Experience in a retail environment
Customer service training and experience

Proposed Salary

ABILITIES

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Works with other department leaders to ensure cross-training of Student Assistant workers

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
