P/T Human Resources Specialist
Position Announcement
Utah Tech University (UT) is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative part-time Human Resources (HR) professional to support a variety of HR initiatives, projects, and operational activities. This role assists with HR projects, process improvement initiatives, training coordination, and administrative support across multiple HR functional areas.
This position reports to and provides direct support to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to support strategic priorities and HR operations.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) with HR initiatives, strategic priorities, and special projects
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing HR initiatives and special projects
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines
- Support the implementation of new HR programs, tools, or systems
- Document HR processes, workflows, and procedures
- Assist in reviewing and improving HR policies and operational processes
- Maintain HR documentation, including policies, procedures, and templates
- Support compliance with employment regulations and internal policies
- Assist with HR data collection, reporting, and basic analytics
- Assist in the development and coordination of employee training sessions, workshops, and learning programs
- Assist in developing and organizing training materials and documentation
- Track training participation and maintain training records
- Assist with employee communications and HR announcements
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Three or more years of HR experience
- Familiarity with HR processes, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; HRIS experience preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a part-time capacity
Supplemental Information
POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff position (20 hours per week). Hourly rate of $23.50/hr. Free access to Employee Assistance Program thru Blomquist-Hale and HPC Fitness Center/Recreation facilities; see for list of part-time staff employee benefits.
