Special Instructions to Applicants: The budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is from $21.28 to $22.58 hourly, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.

Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Principal Auto Equipment-Supervisor, provide driver services of paratransit van(s), light duty vehicles, passenger vans, and/or cars to transport students, staff, and faculty, including those with permanent and temporary mobility impairments, needing assistance getting to/from campus locations and adjacent residential areas on scheduled routes.

Salary & Compensation: *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

• Knowledge of driving laws as specified in the California Vehicle Code. (Required)
• Knowledge of UCLA campus and adjacent areas to ensure most effective routes for pick-up and drop-off destinations. (Preferred)
• Skill in the safe operation of various passenger vehicles to provide transportation as directed. (Required)
• Skill in establishing/maintaining tactful relationships with supervisors, passengers, co-workers. (Required)
• Skill in relaying information to passengers politely, clearly, and effectively. (Required)
• Ability to use two-way radio and/or cellular phone for communication purposes in a professional manner and utilizing proper etiquette. (Required)
• Ability to maintain accurate, legible logs and records. (Required)
• Ability to participate in safety training/certification programs. (Required)
• Ability to detect irregular vehicle performance in order to recognize required maintenance or repairs. (Required)
• Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality in order to meet specific deadlines. (Required)
• Ability to use electronic mapping and navigational tools and Thomas Guide for selecting event routing. (Required)
• Ability to safely interact with trip scheduling software. (Required)
• Ability to handle complex procedures on electric vehicle charging and monitoring. (Preferred)
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts, ramps and other special equipment. (Preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

Possession of valid Class C California Driver's License without restrictions and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record. (Required)
