Part-Time Adjunct Faculty in Mass Communication, Newswriting and Production
Job Description
The Department of Communication and Writing is currently seeking a part-time faculty member to teach one section of Newswriting and Production in Fall 2026 on our campus in York, Pennsylvania. The class will meet on Tuesdays 2:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in our TV studio. The successful candidate will be able to use departmental materials to deliver a real-world, hands-on curriculum in the television studio and assist students in developing the skills to become on-scene reporters.
Outcome: The outcome of this search is to find a part-time faculty member to teach the course.
- Orients and maintains current knowledge related to facility policies and procedures.
- Keeps the course coordinator and department chair informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Works with the departmental chair, staff, and Mass Communication faculty members to deliver course content.
- Serves as a professional role model for students in the course regarding collaboration, communication, and general professionalism.
- Delivers all required course content in accordance with curricular goals. Completes all required course grading and any required outcomes assessment for the Department on time.
- Adheres to applicable regulatory rules and standards.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years of industry experience; Master's degree preferred.
