The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Technical Dual Credit Early Childhood Instructor (Bryan ISD) at Bryan High School.
Job Summary
A Part-Time Dual Credit Early Childhood Education Instructor provides college-level instruction to high school students enrolled in technical dual credit courses. The instructor will ensure that students gain foundational knowledge and practical skills aligned with early childhood education standards, preparing them for careers in early childhood, child development, or similar fields.
Principal Accountabilities
- Teach Early Childhood Education courses following approved curriculum and college standards.
- Incorporate best practices in child development and early learning into instruction.
- Use engaging teaching methods to support diverse learners.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation and institutional policies.
- Utilize the required distance learning platform from the college if appropriate.
- Create and maintain for accuracy a Concourse syllabus for each dual credit course.
- Assess and document student achievement of course and program learning outcomes per ISD and Blinn College requirements.
- Submit required assessment reports to the department and/or institutional effectiveness office.
- Provide guidance on career pathways in early childhood education.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and maintain accurate records per ISD and Blinn College requirements.
- Communicate with high school partners and college administration.
- Participate in meetings, training, and professional development as required by Blinn College.
- Meet all college deadlines including grade and assessment submission.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
Associate degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Family and Consumer Science, Education, Special Education, or related field and 5 years work experience in the field, excluding higher education.
OR
Bachelor's degree or higher in Child Development, Early Childhood, Family and Consumer Science, Education, Special Education, or related field and 3 years work experience in the field, excluding higher education.
Minimum Competencies
Must be able to teach to dual credit high school students in the field at the Bryan High School
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience teaching dual credit college students at a high school location
- Experience teaching Technical Early Childhood courses to dual credit college students at a high school location
